Deep inside a dense oak forest is located the Shree Kalyanika Himalaya Dev Sthanam Ashram, or Dol ashram as it is commonly called in this region. The ashram is located 12.9 KM from our homestay.
Established at the site of an ancient Hanuman temple and a natural water source, this ashram is the second major spiritual center founded by Sri Kalyan Das Ji Baba, after the Kalyan Sewa Ashram in Amarkantak, MP. Rooted in the Udasin Akhada tradition, it offers a space for reflection, devotion, and community service.

The entrance to the ashram has statues and paintings from Hindu religious texts.
There are some temples too dedicated to the local deities (Gangnath, Harju & Saim Devta, Aedi Devta, Golu Devta). The ashram also features a large Lord Shiva statue near the entrance.

Inside the campus, there is a group of temples (Hanuman Ji, Maa Durga, Ganesh Ji, Maa Narmada, Lord Shiva, Navdurga Mata, NarNarayan, Raj Rajeshwari Temple), a meditation centre, a place for ashram’s guests to stay, a hostel for children, their school and playground, a dining area and a cowshed, and some residential areas for priests and for Baba ji.
Not all areas of the ashram are accessible to the general public. Typically, visitors can view the Lord Shiva statue and the temples located further ahead. The meditation center is also open to visitors; however, entry often requires adherence to a strict dress code to maintain the sanctity of the space.

To preserve the spiritual atmosphere of the ashram, photography is strictly prohibited within the campus. All cameras and mobile phones must be deposited at the office located just inside the entrance.

The drive to the ashram is very beautiful, through a dense forest. The stark contrast of the ashram to the forest around it is also interesting.
We encourage you to plan a visit to the ashram during your stay with us. Discover their traditional Vedic schooling system and the ways in which they support local communities. While you’re there, take a moment to offer your prayers at the temples within the campus.
“Spirituality is not just about adhering to certain routine or making propaganda, it is the genuine act of love and compassion”- Tapomurti Baba Kalyan Das Ji (Founder of Dol Ashram)
