Garden & Orchard Planning

Whether you are starting with bare land or transforming an existing garden, we develop site-specific planting and management plans tailored to your landscape, climate, microclimate and long-term objectives. Our consultancy goes well beyond on-site advice: a significant part of our work happens off-site, involving detailed research, planning and evaluation to arrive at the right solutions for each individual site.

Our work can cover plant selection and variety suitability; planting locations, spacing and combinations; pollination planning; soil improvement and fertility; irrigation, drainage and erosion management; frost, wind and sun exposure; wildlife habitat; and the integration of productive and ornamental planting. Regenerative & Ecological Gardening

We can help you move beyond a conventional garden based on intensive inputs and constant maintenance, towards a more self-sustaining system. The aim is not simply to grow more plants, but to build healthy soil, retain water, encourage biodiversity and create a garden that becomes easier and more rewarding to manage over time. Our advice may include composting, mulching, groundcovers, companion planting, selection of plants, nutrient cycling, beneficial insects, natural pest management and appropriate use of native vegetation.

If you already have a garden or orchard that is not performing as expected, we can assess the problems and suggest practical solutions. How the Consultancy Works

Consultations can be conducted remotely using photographs, videos, maps and other information about your property, or through an on-site visit where practical. For larger projects, we can prepare a detailed site-specific plan showing what to plant, where to plant it and how to develop the garden over time. Our objective is always practical advice that you can actually implement and not just a catalogue of plants or a one-size-fits-all landscaping plan.
